The Brewers Cottage Wildlife & Photography Hide 

Coming mid August 2026...

Work is currently underway to integrate a private wildlife viewing and photography hide into our mature, established garden.

Designed specifically for close-up viewing, high-quality filming and photography - it offers a peaceful retreat for nature enthusiasts.

Hide Design 

The hide is a hand built timber construction measuring 6’ x 4’, comfortably accommodating one person (two persons at a squeeze). Built on a concrete base, the interior floor is overlaid with timber and rubber matting to minimize any interior noise.

Viewing & Photographic Hatches
The hide is equipped with two hatches:
  • Hatch 1 (Eye-Level View): Looks out over the rhododendron banking, featuring natural plant growth, mature trees and  moss-covered stumps.
  • Hatch 2 (Lawn View): Overlooks the front lawn and bird feeding stations.
  • Both hatches have loose fitting drop down hessian covers
Interior Features & Amenities
  • Equipment Support: Hatch 1 features a removable shelf for photographic equipment, which can be lifted out if you prefer using a tripod. Bean bag supports are also provided.
  • Comfortable Seating: Inside, you will find a high back swivel office chair and a secondary folding stool.
  • Power & Lighting: Includes a wall socket for charging gear, an internal switch for the outdoor viewing lights, and a remote-controlled, rechargeable magnetic camping light with various settings.
  • Refreshments: A hot drink flask and tin mugs are provided on-site.
Outdoor Lighting & Security 
  • Two security lights operating via a PIR sensor on the shed provide access lighting on path and lawn.
  • Wildlife viewing area lighting at hatch 1 operated from within the hide. 
  • Both hatches can be closed and secured from the inside the hide.
  • A key will be provided upon arrival at the cottage for the hide door.

Please remember to bring your own: 
  • Photographic equipment 
  • Binoculars 
  • Warm clothing 
  • Midge repellent.
  • Wildlife food for the feeding stations
Health & Safety 
  • The hide is strictly NO SMOKING, NO E-CIGRETTES, & NO VAPING
  • Guests are responsible for keeping the hide clean & tidy, free from food, litter etc 
  • The owners of The Brewers Cottage cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage to any photographic equipment used on site.
