Safe Travels ....
The Brewers Cottage is located on the Northern approach to the conservation village of Tomich which itself lies approximately 4 miles south west of Cannich, approximately 35 miles south west of Inverness.
From Inverness there are two routes to The Brewers Cottage at Tomich.
Route 1 : Take the A9 out of Inverness over the Kessock Bridge, at the Tore roundabout take the first exit onto A832 towards Muir of Ord. Avoiding Muir of Ord village at the staggered cross roads turn left onto B9169 past the Black Isle Show Ground and the trading estate. Turn left onto the A862 towards Beauly. Continue through Beauly and take the right turn A831 towards Cannich. (NOTE: From just after Aigas the road is single track with passing places all the way to Cannich, this is used by all types of vehicles inc. logging wagons.) Proceed through Cannich village and at Fasnakyle follow the road left around the side of power station, go over the bridge and take the right turn to Tomich.
Or
Route 2 : From Inverness take the A82 to Fort William, upon entering (and before going over the bridge) at Drumnadrochit look for the Loch Ness Monster Centre on the right and turn right A831 to Cannich.
Approaching from Fort William take the A82 out of Fort William to Inverness. Upon reaching Drumnadrochit follow the road through the village and at the end of the village just after the bridge turn left at the Loch Ness Monster Centre onto A831 for Cannich)
Note : Approaching Tomich from Drumnadrochit on the A831 there is a short cut which omits the village of Cannich. At the bottom of the steep hill (known as Kerrow Brae) which descends into the valley bottom the road makes a sharp right towards Cannich village, slow down and take the small single-track road ahead of you. The single-track road (with passing areas) takes you past some farms (beware livestock on the road) and brings you to the road from Cannich at Fasnakyle bridge, ahead of you is the road to Tomich.
Upon approaching Tomich go over the cattle grid and the hump back bridge and Brewers Cottage is (along with The Old Brewery) the first property turn on the left immediately after the bridge. There is a sign at the bottom of the drive stating The Old Brewery and The Brewers Cottage.
The Old Brewery (next door)is an occupied private residence with no connection to The Brewers Cottage, we kindly request that you offer respect & privacy to our neighbours at all times and do not use their land for turning your vehicle(s).
