The cottage ground floor consists of a Entrance Hall leading into a Living Room with a wood burning stove, a two seater leather sofa, two reclining chairs, and a T.V/DVD player. The cottage walls contain many historical documents relating to Tomich and cottage founder Lord Tweedmouth.
The small lobby area has a phone/answer phone for incoming calls only, and free Wi-Fi, there's also a small selection of DVD's, books, maps and local information folders.
The Dining Room / Kitchen replaced in March 2021, comes complete with Electric Oven and Hob, Microwave, Slimline dishwasher, Fridge/ Freezer, Filter Coffee Machine, and a small Washing Machine. The dining table has been placed so as to enjoy the views out over the garden and the extensive hills beyond.
The wet room / toilet installed in 2020 is situated on the ground floor offers a small walk-in shower area with power shower, hand wash basin and W.C. The bathroom comes complete with energy saving timed underfloor heating and heated towel rail.
Upstairs the first floor comprises of one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, bed linen and towels are included.

The cottage is small and has narrow stairs with a turn, the handrail is on one side only (right hand side for ascending)and as such it is not suitable for wheelchairs or persons with significant disabilities.
The bedrooms are situated on the first floor, and the bathroom on the ground floor – this arrangement may be unsuitable for some guests.
Outside offers a generous lawned and fenced garden with a woodland backdrop and extensive views out over the surrounding countryside, garden seating has been provided for you to sit and enjoy the garden and the surrounding landscape. We have added an outdoor drying area for wet weather clothing & boots, this area also doubles up as a undercover secure bike storage area and a quiet feeding zone for the wildlife, dusk till dawn lighting ensures it is suitable for wildlife watching from the comfort of the lounge.
The bird feeders encourage the extensive birdlife the area has to offer. A wildlife logbook has been placed in the cottage to record both garden and local area sightings. Bird food and food for the pine martin, foxes and badgers can be purchased in Inverness, however as that is some distance we recommend you bring a supply with you. Our own supply of bird and mammal food is located in bins in the outdoor drying area which we are happy for you to use while stocks last, but we do appreciate you replacing it when possible.
The introduction of a Pine Marten nest box will be new for 2021 and will benefit from a viewing camera accessed by a mobile phone app.
Parking is strictly limited to two cars through the double gates to the right at the top of the drive directly outside the front of the cottage. The driveway is owned by Old Brewery next door, we only have access rights. Please keep the gate closed at all times to keep the sheep out!
The large parking area at the rear of the cottage is privately owned by The Old Brewery and NOT for guest use.
We welcome well-behaved dogs to a strict maximum of two. A small dog bed, feeding bowl, and a drying towel are provided but please bring your own dog bedding. We do not permit your dog(s) upstairs, in the bathroom or on the furniture, and kindly request that you do not leave your dog(s) unattended in the cottage.
The gardener may arrive during your stay to cut the lawn please exercise your dog(s)off the property when possible, and ensure that you clean up after dog(s)in the garden immediately and prior to any grass cutting.
We operate a honesty box system for guests to make use our own log supply if they so wish. These logs have been sourced, purchased, prepared and seasoned by ourselves as such we are asking £6.50 per bag. We would like to thank our guests for their honesty when using our log supply.
Kindly Note:
We have a very limited turn around time on change over day, please help us by vacating by 10am and by leaving the cottage as you found it.
Any items not working correctly or breakages MUST be reported to us before you vacate the cottage.
